Spread some love this Valentine’s day with a festive heart garland made of our pool noodles. This easy to make garland is a fun addition to any Valentine’s celebration!

Materials

• 1 pink or red pool noodle
• 1” pom poms
• Fine fishing line (or embroidery thread)
• Tapestry needle
• Glue gun (with low setting)
• Toothpicks
• A non-serrated knife or box cutter with long blade
• Pliers (optional)

Instructions

1. Cut ½” slices of noodle for the rings 
2. Then cut 5” sections of noodle 
   1. Cut those in half longways, then half again (making quarters)

3. Cut ¼” “planks” from the quarter sections as shown in pic 3
   1. Discard the middle triangular section
   2. You’ll get 2 planks from each quarter section (these do not have to be perfect)
   3. Place on edge and slice the tips diagonally in the same direction. Discard the tips.

4. Hot glue the planks into heart shapes and use the toothpicks to hold them until they are set. Avoid sticking the toothpick into the glued area or it will glue the toothpick to your heart. Secure it just above the glued area.
5. Once set, remove the toothpicks and string the pieces using the needle and fishing line. The heart shapes will be elongated until they are strung together.
   1. If the needle is hard to pull through the noodle, use the pliers.

6. Alternate circle/pompom/heart/pompom or whatever order looks good to you.
7. Garland is weatherproof and can be used indoors or out!
