ArmaWin for the Win
ArmaWin is Armacell’s professional technical calculator which helps mechanical engineers, contractors and architects calculate the proper technical values, such as thickness, to be specified on a job using the ArmaFlex® family of products. Installing the proper elastomeric insulation thickness to prevent condensation and heat loss is key to the long-term performance of mechanical HVAC, plumbing and refrigeration systems.
Thickness is Crucial
The main task of low-temperature insulation is to prevent condensation. In addition to the quality of the material and installation, the correct insulation thickness is required to achieve long-term condensation control even under critical conditions. To calculate the insulation thickness it is necessary to define the line and ambient temperatures as well as the relative humidity. Knowing these figures is then required in order to determine the thermal conductivity and heat transfer coefficient of both the insulation and the object (pipe / duct etc.) to be insulated. These calculations can be made much more easily using ArmaWin.
