Armacell Launches New Sulfur-Free Monarch Product

  • Ideal for use around electronic enclosures, electrical cabinets, LED enclosures, or circuit boards.
  • No sulfur added during the manufacturing process.
  • Reduces risk of sulfur corrosion where metal components are exposed.

Chapel Hill, NC, 5 December 2023 – Armacell, a global leader in flexible foam for the equipment insulation market and a leading provider of engineered foams, announced today the addition of Monarch® 9021 to the ArmaComp™ family of our component foam solutions. Armacell’s sulfur-free* EPDM foam answers the demand from engineers and designers seeking a product free from added sulfur.

From automotive and consumer electronics to outdoor lighting or industrial applications, Monarch 9021 offers an innovative solution to the problem of corrosion due to sulfur outgassing, creep corrosion, and silver surface tarnishing. Non-sulfur cured Monarch 9021 foam is ideal for use in environments around LED mechanisms, LCD displays, electrical panels, electronic cabinets, circuit boards, lighting systems, electronic enclosures, speaker housings, or where sensitive metal components are exposed and there is a risk of sulfur corrosion occurring. Monarch 9021 is a great choice for applications with elevated humidity or high temperatures as it should not cause corrosion.
