Coverings Foam insulation and cladding systems for on-the-job safety, equipment padding and protection. ArmaFlex elastomeric closed-cell foams and cladding systems are available in multiple configurations to provide protection to workers, equipment, or both. Protective Padding Applications. ArmaFlex elastomeric foams can be used to create a physical barrier between workers and equipment that might be hot or have sharp edges. It may also protect sensitive equipment from damage in an active workplace. Exterior or Harsh Industrial Insulation Applications. For insulation applications that require additional jacketing, such as exterior insulation applications where UV rays and weather exposure are a problem, Armacell’s ArmaTuff® insulation is designed with a protective laminated cladding already built in. No need to apply a separate protective metal jacket! ArmaTuff’s built-in cladding also increases the overall lifespan of the insulation system in both outdoor applications and harsh or corrosive industrial applications. Separate Cladding Applications. Arma-Chek coverings are a flexible alternative to metallic-cladding systems. Although designed to work as a covering system for ArmaFlex materials, Arma-Chek is universally applicable and can be installed on site as a protective covering over a variety of other materials. A non-metallic system with no risk of surface corrosion, Arma-Chek enhances the life expectancy of the equipment it protects, and requires significantly less monitoring and maintenance than metallic cladding systems. Scaffolding Protection Applications . Armacell's OleCell® polyethylene foam padding in safety yellow is the ideal protection at jobsites where a temporary scaffolding structure is used to support a work crew and materials during construction, maintenance or repair of buildings and other structures. Our tube and pipe guards protect workers and the public from worksite hazards. Download OleCell Scaffolding Protection Data Sheet here . Thermal Thermal Insulation Solutions for Energy Savings AP ArmaFlex® , the original elastomeric closed-cell foam insulation, has been the chosen fiber-free mechanical insulation since its introduction in 1954. Superior condensation control and consistent thermal performance have made ArmaFlex the preferred insulating material for pipes and ductwork. Its efficient installation and superior performance has won it favor among contractors, engineers and end-users who understand its long-lasting value. The closed-cell foam structure of ArmaFlex prevents moisture from wicking or transferring from the surface of the insulation to the surface of the pipe or duct. This means that water won’t be trapped next to the metal, causing corrosion and eventual damage to the system. Because of its non-permeable, closed-cell foam structure, no additional vapor retarder is required to protect ArmaFlex insulation, saving the installer time and cladding material cost. Unlike fibrous insulation, which loses R-value and must be replaced when it becomes wet, ArmaFlex performance stays the same, regardless of surface punctures or exposure to moisture. 25/50 flame and smoke rated up to 2” Meets the energy code requirements of ASHRAE 90.1, ASHRAE 90.2, International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) and other building codes Made without the use of CFCs, HFCs or HCFCs Formaldehyde free, low VOCs, fiber free, dust free Made with Microban® antimicrobial product protection for added defense against mold on the insulation Check our Product Selector Tool to find products that meet your requirements.
Acoustic Armacell Acoustic Solutions Reducing noise and vibration for the transportation and construction industries The world is a noisy place. Fortunately, Armacell component foams offer solutions to minimize the effect of environmental noise in residential, commercial and industrial settings. Our new families of products address many of the challenges associated with sound and vibration faced by engineers every day. Armacell's new acoustical component foam products offer solutions to some of the most common problems: Vibration damping/isolation Sound isolation Noise abatement Sound absorption Sound attenuation Mechanical decoupling of structure-borne noise Acoustical insulation Reduces destructive vibration between structural components Acoustical engineering is not just about noise control. The problem of unwanted sound or vibration in construction is complicated. Many factors affect the success of acoustical design. There may be undesirable noise that comes from nearby mechanical equipment that needs to be lessened or concealed. Perhaps vibration is the culprit, causing disturbance to nearby occupants. Or there may be the need to seal air gaps for acoustical and thermal improvement in construction projects. Armacell offers foam products and technical expertise for all these considerations. New ArmaComfort® MTD Acoustical Tape Armacell is now offering a revolutionary new mechanical and thermal decoupling tape that’s fast and easy to install! Applying MTD tape directly to the stud in place of resilient channel or isolation clips, dramatically reduces pass through noise, making a quieter, more comfortable space.
